African Black Soap is traditionally made from secret recipes in Ghana and other parts of western Africa. Different tribes and communities have adopted their own specific blend of oils, soothing beneficial local ingredients, and cooking techniques which accounts for the different color variations among black soap. Plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves, and she bark are some of the locally harvested materials included in these recipes.

In keeping with tradition, we have included the traditional key ingredients of coconut carbon, as well as plantain powder, tea tree essential oil, and our very own goat's milk in our blend of oils and butters.
